Falcon Windows - A COVID-19 Secure Company

Falcon Windows is delighted to be back supporting customers as restrictions put in place around the COVID-19 outbreaks, have been eased.

We continue to trade responsibily, aware that the virus is still prevalent across the world, undertaking our surveys and installations with the health and safety of our customers and workforce in mind at all times. The content of this article was revisited after 19th July 2021.

We take the health and safety of both our customers across Suffolk and Essex and our workforce very seriously indeed. As a result of reacting in line with Government guidelines, we are pleased to announce that Falcon Windows Ipswich has been certificated as a ‘Covid-19 Secure Company’.

But what exactly does this mean?

Background

The Government has produced a series of documents which explain how companies can responsibly carry on their business during this time - including about working in other people’s homes. If you’d like to look at these yourself, you can find them on the gov.uk website here »

Falcon Windows understands that due to the situation being fluid, operations may stall again at any time. If the R-rate of infection exceeds 1, the Government will re-evaluate their advice. It is a possibility that we may need to suspend business again sometime in the future.

Our ‘Covid-19 Secure Company’ certificate is proof that we have satisfied the Government requirements to continue to trade. To achieve this, we have already undertaken and put in place a Covid-19 specific risk assessment and all staff are being issued with the relevant PPE recommended by the Government.

Assessing risk – Implementing additional measures

A risk assessment specific to Covid-19 has been a major undertaking at Falcon Windows. This was a vital exercise to win clarification about what our work activities involve and to ensure that the health and safety of all staff and customers are prioritised during this time.

From this, the Government documents and supportive information from our trade bodies, we have been able to prepare specific information to all our current and prospective customers so that they understand exactly all the procedures, potential contact points and social distancing requirements in place, from office/ showroom visits to booking and carrying out survey appointments and installations.

Business as usual?

Regarding every aspect of our windows, doors and conservatories installation and repair service across Suffolk and Essex, we are being honest, realistic and above all, alert.

Customers who already have a contract with us, will hear from us to arrange installation and ensure that they are in receipt of a copy of our customer information and guidelines specific to Covid-19.

If you’d like an appointment, we are now booking these. Again, information relevant to this situation will be issued prior to the appointment taking place – it’s the little things we need to bring to your attention - like not offering to hold one end of the tape measure - as much as the bigger things like being sure to inform us in advance if you are self-isolating so that the appointment may be postponed before our arrival at your home.

Waiting patiently – Staying alert

Some aspects of our business will remain different until Government guidance helps us reappraise the situation.

Our Falcon Windows Ipswich showroom is now open by appointment only for the time being. We feel that this is necessary due to its size and so that we can sanitise and ventilate the property appropriately between customer visits.

We are all very aware too that we need to be alert in lots of ways – and that includes reviewing Government guidelines constantly. We are vigilant around our detailed risk assessment to ensure that we can keep it up-to-date and accurate.

If our immediate plans have to change, we will notify all our customers as soon as we possible and ask for understanding that we can accept no liability regarding delays on installations etc. If we need to stop work through Government guidance and are in the middle of an installation, it goes without saying that we will always ensure a home is secure.

The Falcon Windows team will continue to deliver top quality installations following our strict, COVID-19 aware health and safety policy. We are grateful to all our customers, past, present and future for their continued support in helping us to deliver first class service and improvements to their homes during the difficult times of 2020/ 2021.
